Antipop Consortium

Biography

Antipop Consortium was one of the most inventive underground hip hop crews in the early 2000's. APC formed in the fall of 1997 and consisted of three vocalists (High Priest, Beans, and M. Sayyid) who came from the New York street poetry scene, with producer Earl Blaize in the background. After a series of cassette only releases on their own label, and some underground singles, the Ark 75 label released the group's debut album "Tragic Epilogue" in 2000. Their music bridged the gap between hip hop and IDM.
