Biography

The Darkness is a British rock band formed in Lowestoft, Suffolk in 2000 by brothers Justin Hawkins and Dan Hawkins. Together with Frankie Poullain and Ed Graham the band recorded and released their debut album Permission to Land in 2003. Poullain left the band in 2005 and was replaced by Richie Edwards, before the release of One Way Ticket to Hell...and Back. Lead-singer Justin Hawkins announced he had left the band in October 2006.

On 15 March 2011, after a 5-year hiatus, The Darkness announced a reunion.
