Biography

UK punk band formed in London in 1976. After singer Poly Styrene left in 1979 to pursue other interests, the band disbanded.

Guitarist Jack Stafford and drummer Paul Hurding founded the band Classix Nouveaux with singer Sal Solo, which became part of the "New Romantic" scene.

X-Ray Spex was re-formed in 1991 for a short while but had a rather indifferent reception, but then re-formed again in 1995 and has played live every now and then since.
